Doctor Wallace says:
Tyson had his laser treatment in September ’04. He did have rather large pupils (8.0mm in darkness) and we counseled him accordingly. We included him in a research study evaluating whether there was any advantage to “wavefront-guided” treatment compared to “conventional” treatment with the LADAR laser, in light of his large pupils. We treated one eye with Custom Cornea (“wavefront-guided”) treatment (this allows treatment out to a 6.5mm optical zone), and the other with conventional treatment (which allows treatment out to an 8.0mm optical zone).
He did extremely well in both eyes, and has excellent vision without any distracting glare, halo, or night vision difficulty in either eye, now over one year out from his care.
