Doctor Wallace says:
I have known and cared for Oren in my practice for over 15 years. He has endured all manner of suffering with astigmatism-correcting contact lenses of various types. His very significant astigmatism and minimal nearsightedness makes him a challenge to fit, even with the latest designs in toric lenses. If the contact lenses rotate even 5 or 10 degrees on the eye, his vision goes very blurry. That’s one of the main reasons he was interested in LASIK.
Oren was also very nervous, and extremely cautious about having any kind of eye surgery. I encouraged him to take his time, learn as much as possible, and not move forward until he felt comfortable.
He chose to have LASIK in May, ’99. In patients with very profound astigmatism such as Oren, enhancement is more commonly needed than with lower amounts of correction. We did perform enhancement for both eyes in August ’99, and Oren has retained fabulously clear vision ever since.
We last saw Oren in the office in July, ’02, and a huge smile still comes to his face when he thinks about the changes LASIK has made in his life.
