Barbara is a good example of how successful monovision can be for the right person. Before LASIK, she could read fine without glasses. She had had a bad experience in the ’94 LA earthquake, when she got separated from her eyeglasses, and wanted never to repeat that again.
We performed LASIK for her left eye only, as this was her dominant eye. This allowed her to retain good reading vision with the right.
