Almost as soon as I heard about LASIK, I knew I wanted to check it out for myself. I was only slightly nearsighted, with a little astigmatism, but I always hated wearing glasses or contacts.
I talked to my dad about having LASIK, and guess what? He was so interested, he went to see Dr. Wallace too, and ended up having LASIK before me! He is very pleased with his results, and encouraged me to go ahead with my own care.
I had my surgery – both eyes – in early July. Almost right away I knew things were great. I can now see crystal clear in both eyes, and Dr. Wallace told me my vision was 20/15 — better than 20/20!
I can’t say enough good things about LASIK. It’s everything I had hoped for. Anyone with questions or concerns is welcome to call me anytime.
Doctor Wallace says:
Jeff came to me very motivated to have laser vision correction. At the time of our initial consultation I advised him to consider PRK rather than LASIK, because in the lower myopia ranges PRK works beautifully and has slightly lower complication risks than LASIK. Also, the ultimate final visual outcomes are equivalent for the two types of laser vision care. He had heard about LASIK from others, and opted instead for that, since it afforded a quicker visual recovery and minimal down-time. We are both quite pleased with his excellent result. He is getting married in September, and I wish him all the best with his new vision and his new bride.
