Dr. Wallace is the most amazing doctor! Not only did he put me at ease before the surgery (and I have to admit, I had a consultation with another doctor and was just too nervous to go thru with it), I had such a positive experience on my surgery day! The staff was reassuring and knew just when to give me the Valium. I then spent time in the “zen room” with a lovely fountain, dim lights, and blanket and a stuffed animal (yes, it may sound a little silly but it really works!). Once in surgery, Dr. Wallace let me know what was going on every step of the way (and I loved hearing “beautiful,” “this is going really well,” “wonderful”) and it was so encouraging that I wasn’t scared at all! I’m an anxious sort of person by nature, and claustrophobic, and tough to sedate so this was outstanding! And then the most incredible part…when we were done, and it was quick – just about 3 minutes per eye – when I sat up on the table, I could see! Wow! I had monovision (I had it done 2 days before my 59th birthday as a gift to myself. I had worn glasses since I was 8 and contacts since I was 12). When I went back the next morning, and I drove myself, I had 20/20 vision. And if it just could’t get any better…Dr. Wallace was so afordable. I can’t thank him enough for making this possible! Dr. Wallace is the BEST!!
