I had been thinking about getting laser surgery to correct my vision from the first time I heard of the procedure 10 years ago. Although my prescription has always been in the low range, I have no recollection of being able to see clearly without glasses or contacts. My first pair of glasses were forced on me at the age of 9.
When I began researching Doctors in the L.A. area, it was very clear from the moment I met Dr. Wallace and his staff that they were the gang for me. Although Dr. Wallace has performed thousands of procedures, he never made me feel as though my concerns and fears were trivial. He understood that this was my first time and went through each step with me in such detail that you would never guess that I was not his first and only patient. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns and never once did I feel rushed or as though I was on a time clock and had his attention for a limited time only. He gave me every possible option and he was always available to answer any questions I might have forgotten to ask in the office. Dr. Wallace also advised that I not opt for the more expensive, more advanced “Form” procedure because he felt I could achieve perfect results with the “regular” Lasik, even with the astigmatism I had in both eyes. And boy was he right!
During the surgery, Dr. Wallace talked to me the entire time, explaining what he was doing and what each step was for. This really made the entire 15 minute procedure less nerve wracking and reassured me to no end. After my surgery, Dr. Wallace was available pretty much 24/7 in case of any concern or emergency, and I was sent home with all the information I needed to feel safe and worry free during my healing time. The staff was also very instrumental in telling me what to expect and what was considered normal during the healing process.
I never once felt as though I was unprepared or ill informed about what was going on. My follow up visits gave me great comfort when I realized that Dr. Wallace intended to follow my progress closely and monitor all changes for a solid year. I currently have 20/15 in both eyes and can’t believe the precision and clarity with which I can now explore the world. Being able to walk down the aisle at my wedding and see with clarity my husband way down there waiting for me from the moment the church doors opened was a dream come true. The staff at L.A. Sight is like no other I have met in any medical office in my life. They are happy to see you, happy to be working with Dr. Wallace and have become friends over the last year. Although they deal with people all day, they seem to understand the miracles that are happening in their office and take joy in the gratitude of their patients.
As far as Dr. W. goes, he is top notch all the way. Thanks again Doc for changing my life and giving me my sight. God bless you!!!!

Doctor Wallace says:
Ellina had her primary treatment in February of ’04. As of this writing (October ’04) she is 20/15 in both eyes. I did feel that in her case the standard or “conventional” LASIK would likely give her fabulous results, and that she didn’t need to spend the extra money on “wavefront” (also called Custom Cornea) treatment.
